Project Phoenix Profile: Kevin Hainsworth

Kevin is one of the many orphaned children roaming the vast cities on Earth, never knowing who his family had been. He frequently ran with whichever gang was on the winning side of the gang fights. After sticking with one particular gang for some time, Kevin became friends with a younger orphan, Nathan, who looked up to him greatly. In the midst of a standoff with another gang, Kevin was knocked unconscious after taking a blow to the head trying to protect Nathan. When he woke, he was left with a scar over his left eye where he’d been hit and the death of his first friend on his conscious.

While in the midst of grieving and dealing with the guilt of not having the strength to protect what was important, Kevin was picked up by a Cerberus executive promising him all the power and top-of-the-line training he could imagine if he joined with them. Still not satisfied with his strength after years of Cerberus operations, he volunteered for the Illusive Man’s Project Phoenix, the project that extremely strengthened his biotics and stole the color from his once black hair. Kevin remained with Cerberus until deciding that he wasn't going to get any stronger following the Illusive Man’s insanity. After deserting, he found himself protecting civilians in the middle of a reaper attack. Tony and his squad arrived at the colony to find that their job had been done for them. Greatly enjoying messing with Tony and hoping to continue getting stronger, Kevin has since remained fighting with the Alliance.

The one word to describe Kevin is simply: brat. In his off time he enjoys teasing Tony, flirting with girls any chance he gets, and pulling grade-school level pranks on those around him. There’s a rumor going around that he carries a tattered old joke book with him at all times. While most of the group has accepted Kevin and his reasons for joining the Alliance, Brooke remains slightly skeptical of his motives, mostly due to his unpredictable personality and his frequent pestering of Tony.
